Tonight’s performance by talented Young Opera Singers part of their Prelude to Performance. The Young Artist Program Alumni: Seok-Jong Baek, D’angelo Diaz, Shana Grossman, Maria Natale, Yunnie Park and Jonathan Tetelman performed excerpts from Die Fledermaus and La Boheme.

The mission of the Martina Arroyo Foundation is to counsel young singers in the interpretation of complete roles for public performances. The Foundation guides each singer in the preparation of an entire operatic role through a formal educational process.

Prelude to Performance® is a six-week intensive training program for approximately 35 young singers, with past participants coming from the
United States, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. Their hard work culminates in four fully staged opera performances with sets, costumes
and orchestra in a prominent New York venue.
The Role Preparation Class takes place in the spring,  a class of 12–14 singers who participate in forty hours of group and individual coaching sessions. Within twelve weeks, each singer learns a complete operatic role chosen by the participant in cooperation with their voice teacher.
The foundation’s strong supporters are a diverse group of talented individuals on Honorary Benefit Committee including Kathy Bates, Tyne Daily, Audra McDonald, Rita Moreno, Rufus Wainwright and many others.
