This summer, August 6, 2016, Dancers For Good East Hampton produced an exciting dance performance event at the Ross Upper School Court Theater in East Hampton.

Hosted by the engaging Bebe Neuwirth, an American actress, singer and dancer who has won two Tonys’ for her roles in Sweet Charity and Chicago, and double Emmies for her role on the sitcom Cheers.

Performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company, Desmond Richardson, Doug Elkins Choreography etc, Carolyn Doorman Dance, Broadway Dance Lab, ROCK the Ballet and more.

The funds raised helped The Actors Fund that provides for
The Dancers’ Resource/Career Transition For Dancers, Ross School for the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund, and the Paul Taylor Dance Company for Paul Taylor Dance Foundation.

The Actors Fund is a national human services that helps those who in performing arts and entertainment whether they are performers or behind the scenes. The organization provides social services and emergency financial assistance, health care and insurance counseling, housing, employment and training services with their offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Ross School,  a private school since 1991 on two beautiful campuses in East Hampton, was funded by Courtney and Steven J. Ross. This school tries to expand some of the best practices in K-12 education. Their Scholarship Fund allows all children to benefit from a Ross School education regardless of economic circumstances. They granted financial assistance to over one third of Ross students during the 2015-2016 academic year.

The Paul Taylor Dance Company is very active within New York State and the New York City Public Schools. They visit classrooms in all five boroughs each year for performances, movement classes and lecture-demonstrations. More about the Paul Taylor Dance Foundation, Inc., can be found at www.ptamd.org.

This was created in 2015 by dancer, Michael Apuzzo of Paul Taylor Dance Company, and event planner/ former Broadway performer Eric Gunhus. They partnered with author and fashion expert Hal Rubenstein, engineering VP David Nickle and their not-for-profit Fund in the Sun Foundation.

Fund in the Sun Foundation(FITS) was established in 2006 as a not-for-profit public charity dedicated to the LGBT community and Fire Island Pines.The Fund helps smaller and grass organizations on smaller HIV/AIDS related youth and adult organizations and youth enhancement and protection organizations that do not have the ability nor infrastructure to raise money easily.

The organization has provided grants over $1 million to over 30 different charities and other nonprofits.Some of the money raised is annually donated to Live Out Loud grants for motivated LGBT high school students college scholarships.They provide contributions made to One Heartland helps dozens of children born with HIV to one of of their summer campsites.Another resource is helping physically and neurologically challenged infants with tier special therapeutic equipment. This 501-c-3 unlike others does not spend money or overhead, office furniture or payroll.
