This was the 6th annual Haiti Cherie benefit held at the historic Landmark on the Park on June 4th, 2016.
Hosting the event, DeMarco Morgan , former WNBC New York Anchor and current CBS Correspondent Atlanta Anchor, and the lovely Miss Haiti Universe Lisa Drouillard, who was crowned Miss New York Teen USA in 2011.
Speaking on the urgent needs of Haiti was Chad W. Bissonnette, Co-founder and Executive Director of Roots of Development. He spoke with such passion, moving the crowd.
This event also celebrated the following 2016 Honorees:
Judge Sybil Elias, 1st female Haitian judge from New Jersey
JP Alfred, Head of Business Development from the US from GETT transportation
Then we were treated to a buffet of delicious and authentic Haitian food prepared by award winning Chef Stephan Berrouet, founder of the Haiti Food and Spirits Festival & Chef Dimitri Lilavois; specialty drinks generously provided by Hennessy.
ABOUT HAITI CHERIE
Haiti Cherie was created by Fabrice J. Armand, a philanthropist, producer, and President of Fabrice J. Armand Group. They raise funds for charities that creates sustainable change in his native Haiti. The event was first launched in 2010 following the devastating earthquake in Haiti that killed over 300,000 people. The funds raised will provide support for the reconstruction of the country. The event honors professionals who have excelled in their fields have been supporters of Haiti. He has raised more than $350,000 for relief and rebuilding efforts of Haiti.
According to Fabrice, this event has become a unifying moment for the Haitian diaspora and friends of Haiti in New York City. The event presents an excellent opportunity for successful Haitian Professionals to network and build with people from all over the Diaspora. “Haiti Cherie is not just about raising funds for worthy charities back home,” said Armand.
Fabrice was honored and elected in 2011 as the youngest person to ever serve on the Board of the Haiti Cultural Exchange, a nonprofit organization established to develop, present and promote the cultural expressions of the Haitian people.
