Sickle Cell Expert Delivers Information on Battling Pain with Paint
This past week, I was invited by Dr. Frank Bunn, world renown professor of medicine and medical researcher on Sickle Cell Disease, to speak at Harvard University, First Year Medical Students on the topic of Sickle Cell Disease. I spoke on how sickle cell affects me, the knowledge I have gained from having this illness first hand, and steps I take to manage my pain, also incorporating my art, and how I manage my daily lifestyle. This class was so amazing, offered such great questions, and I learned so much from Dr. Ben Ebert who hosted the talk, and did a full presentation on the genetics of Sickle Cell. Check out Part 1 of this discussion, as I explain my history of having Sickle Cell Anemia. Please, like this video, share it to your audience. My mission is to bring as much awareness globally in order to bring fundamental change in hospital care and management for sickle cell patients, and to get President Obama on board to Speak On Sickle Cell for World Sickle Cell Day – June 19th, 2015. #SpeakOnSickleCellObama @BarackObama #WorldSickleCellDay
