The news broke every where this past week that Kathy Griffin QUITS Fashion Police! Is it me or are you not surprised?
No one can replace Joan Rivers, period. She was the beast, the eye of the storm, so to speak of the hot show on E!
BUT, whats so crazy about the news is that all these celebrities, such as Whoopi Goldberg, Mindy Kaling are rallying around her. WTF!
She quit right? she didn’t get fired!
Even Jack Osbourne is puzzled by this out cry, as he stated on his FaceBook account,
“So Kelly quits and she’s overreacting, Kathy quits and she’s a hero?” Jack Osbourne writes. “I find this frustrating.”
Last month, after the controversy of Giuliana Rancic crazy comment on Zendaya’s hairstyle, Kelly Osbourne departed E!’s Fashion Police, which she helped to start in 2010 with Joan. The comment was the bottom line for Kelly, for since the new production of the show, she wasn’t happy of its new direction and could no longer stand by it.
What is interesting though, is the statement Kathy put out to explain her reason for leaving, and that it had NOTHING to do with the behind-the-scenes tensions – will see
“After 7 episodes of Fashion Police, I have discovered my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now it’s time to move on,” she said. “I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance toward difference. I want to help women, gay kids, people of colour, and anyone who feels underrepresented to have a voice and a LAUGH.”
Similarities to Kelly Osbourne, don’t you think?
Look, I think that a new show needs to be revamped all together. Since that Rancic comment, Fashion Police hasn’t been the same.
There needs to be more DIVERSITY on the Fashion Police panel, like myself! I should be sitting on that panel, representing Women of Colour, discussing fashion trends and styles, helping our viewers in picking great selections for their wardrobe as their favourite celebrities wear. I think the network has forgotten the origin of the show and so caught up on bashing Women on the Red Carpet, that its no longer fun, edgy, and positive.
What are your thoughts on the show now that Kathy Griffin has made her exit? Should E! revamp Fashion Police all together?
