2 Stars and Nothing More – VII Album Review
Editor in Chief: Najaam Lee
G.O.O.D. MUSIC female RNB artist, Teyana Taylor dropped her first album on November 4th, 2014 called VII, revealing an album cover art of a Sin City after dark. The project was produced by Kanye West. Click cover to buy VII album.
Before this album, Teyana released a mixtape back in 2012 called The Misunderstandings of Teyana Taylor.
So, for the past 2 days I have listened to her new album VII and her singing voice reminds me of a mix with Aaliyah, Toni Braxton, and Tweet.
I must say this, I didn’t enjoy the album. The songs are weak. There is not one hit song on this album. With the many plugs of features, I am so disappointed.
Her image and the image of the album DO NOT reflect in the songs they have her singing. OMG. I rate this album with 2 STARS for the effort to make her first studio album.
The subject matters she is singing need to fit her image correctly for one to believe in this project.
A structuring is needed immediately with some really good remixes and at least one hit to help this album or else G.O.O.D. Music should release her and have LA Reid & Babyface step in with a hit-maker.
Teyana Taylor is a beautiful person and a strong young woman, having the chance to meet her. But this project needs better energy for it to thrive with the many other albums that are about to drop this month that will wash over VII.
