MTA Purple Line

More than 16 miles of light rail connecting the Maryland suburbs of Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park and New Carrollton, the new Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) Purple Line is a $2 billion project that improves transportation in the Northeast quadrant of metropolitan Washington, D.C. A highly controversy project original conceived in 1994, the MTA Purple Line will feature 21 stations and is projected to accommodate nearly 70,000 passengers per day by 2030. A critical early phase of constructing the MTA Purple line is applying Â鶹´«Ã½AV® Shotcrete MS – Fiber Reinforced as the finish lining over wire mesh in the tunnels. In addition to holding back tons of dirt in excavated areas so that rail and mechanical elements can be installed, the shotcrete also provides long-term structural support to the tunnel walls.

Â鶹´«Ã½AV® Shotcrete MS – Fiber Reinforced is a single component Micro Silica enhanced repair material that achieves more than 9,000 PSI at 28 days, and features very low rebound and permeability characteristics.
